Simran Singh, a 26-year-old social media influencer and former radio jockey from Jammu and Kashmir, was found dead in her rented apartment in Gurugram on December 26, 2024. Her flatmates discovered her hanging in her room after she failed to respond to calls and messages throughout the day. She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. 

Known to her 684,000 Instagram followers as 'Jammu Ki Dhadkan', Simran had relocated to Gurugram in 2021 after working as a radio jockey in Jammu. Her last Instagram post, dated December 13, showcased her dancing on a beach, captioned: "Just a girl with endless giggles and her gown, taking over the beach." 

Authorities did not find a suicide note at the scene. According to her family, Simran had been experiencing depression, though the specific reasons remain unclear. The police have conducted a post-mortem examination and are awaiting the results to confirm the cause of death. As of now, no formal complaint has been filed by the family, and the investigation is ongoing. 

The news of Simran's passing has elicited condolences from prominent figures, including Jammu & Kashmir National Conference President Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah, who expressed profound grief over her untimely demise.
